Have you been wondering about L&I’s new Stay at Work program? Beginning in January L&I will begin making reimbursements to employers who have paid light duty wages to a worker with an open L&I claim. You could be entitled to 50% of the wages you’ve paid to employees on light duty for up to 66 days, or $10,000!

A number of our members have used this new program, and have seen reimbursement checks for amounts ranging from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars! Reimbursements are timely as well, with a promise from L&I that they be issued within 30 days of submission of the reimbursement form. This program was effective as of June 15, 2011 and retroactive reimbursements are available.
